Myofascial Release

Myofascial Release is a gentle, profoundly effective method of soft tissue therapy that works through applying sustained pressure directly into the fascia. It resolves painful conditions, relaxes the nervous system, and restores postural equilibrium

What is Fascia?

Fascia is a soft tissue that encases every structure in the body in a flexible but sturdy envelope. It provides muscles, organs, bones, and all other structures of the body with protection and support. Trauma such as surgery, a car accident, prolonged sitting, or prolonged worry cause the fascia to harden and shorten, and activates the body’s inflammatory response, turning an acute injury into a chronic one. These fascial restrictions can produce tensile pressure of up to 2,000 pounds per square inch. The discomfort and limited range of motion produced by these restrictions further amplify the body’s protective response, leading to further inflammation and loss of flexibility.
